Non-F1 Analysis

Formula Renault 2.0 NEC
Race two results: Engineer 9th (12 points).
Race three results: Engineer 12th (9 points).

Two solid race results on Sunday, added to the 15th in race one on Saturday means that Shahaan scores 27pts this weekend, a great effort!

The points scored this weekend have done wonders for Shahaan's championship, he's risen from 13th to 11th, here are how things currently stand:

Drivers' championship (10th-13th):
10) Andrea Pizzitola (126 pts)
11) Shahaan Engineer (117)
12) Sandy Stuvik (113)
13) Leopold Ringbom (108)

The next races are on the 22nd/23rd of September at Zandvoort in the Netherlands - more of the same please Shahaan! :-)

GT1
Qualifying Race: Ebrahim 11th.
Championship Race: Ebrahim 9th (2 points).

Just to give you some idea of the format of this series; this is a typical schedule:

Saturday:
Free Practice One
Free Practice Two
Qualifying (A knockout-style qualifying, similar to F1. Determines the grid for the qualifying race).

Sunday:
Qualifying Race (Determines the grid for the championship race. Top six cars score points; 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1).
Championship Race (Top 10 cars score points, same scoring as F1; 25, 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1).

In qualifying the Sunred team finished P9 of the 11 cars after getting into Q2. P9 is pretty much the maximum the car can deliver, so it's a good effort.

In the qualifying race they dropped two positions from their starting spot though and finished P11. However in the championship race they managed to gain those to positions back again to finish P9 and score two points. That's a solid weekend from Sunred after fielding two rookie drivers; Armaan Ebrahim & Benjamin Lariche.

Note: the rules say that "Each car is required to change tires and drivers at least once during each race". That means that during every race both Armaan & Benjamin will take part.

Drivers Championship (25th-31st):
25) Albert von Thurn und Taxis (18 pts)
26) Tomas Enge (18)
27) Milos Pavlovic (3)
28) Benjamin Lariche (2)
29) Andreas Zuber (2)
30) Matteo Cressoni (2)
31) Armaan Ebrahim (2)

Teams Championship (7th-9th):
7) Exim Bank Team China (38 pts)
8) Sunred (5)
9) Valmon Racing Team Russia (0)

The next race is at the Nürburgring on the 23rd September.
