Magny-Cours Test - Day One Results

Results: Bianchi 1st (1:18.070), Razia 2nd (1:18.535).

Sahara Force India's reserve driver, Jules Bianchi topped the session today - but he was driving a Ferrari! Despite being our reserve driver, the Frenchman is part of Ferrari's driver academy so he was on duty for them today. He'll switch to Force India tomorrow, then switch back to Ferrari for the final day (Thursday).

Jules' session today was ended early after the Ferrari F2012 came to a halt on-track, it was a mechanical issue. It will be interesting to see how this laptime today compares to the laptime he sets in the Force India tomorrow.

Meanwhile GP2 title contender, Luiz Razia took control of the Force India VJM05 today. He was 0.465 seconds slower than Jules. It was interesting to see the Brazillian beat the Mercedes of Sam Bird by 0.559 seconds; but of course we don't know how much fuel both cars were running. Luiz caused a red flag at one stage when he spun the car, but there was no damage so it's not such a major problem, just inexperience really, he's learning :-)

The team were also taking this opportunity to test a new front wing & some other aero pieces. If all the data over the three days is positive then we may see the new bits on the car at the next race in Singapore.

We'll let you know how Jules gets on for Sahara Force India tomorrow :-)
