Italian GP - Qualifying Results

Results: di Resta 4th (will start 9th)(1:24.304), Karthikeyan 22nd (will start 21st)(1:27.441), Hulkenberg 24th (no time set).

A bitter sweet qualifying session for Sahara Force India. Everything was looking great before qualifying, but we knew Paul di Resta would receive a 5-place grid penalty for changing his gearbox.

As qualifying got underway, we saw Hulkenberg go straight on at turn one, using the escape road. It looked like he made an error but it was a gearbox failure. Unfortunately, he will start right at the back.

As for Paul di Resta, he was driving brilliantly, and managed to take P4 in Q3 with a fantastic lap! Unfortunately that 5-place penalty means he'll start in P9 - still not a bad starting position.

Meanwhile Narain Karthikeyan had a fantastic session, one of the best performances of anybody on the grid really! He out-qualified his teammate by 0.188 seconds, that's the first time he has done that this season - wonderful effort! It gets better too - Maldonado has a 10-place grid penalty from the last race, he will drop to 22nd which means Narain will start 21st. The Indian will be delighted!

More analysis later.
