Updates on Indian GP

This is the news which all the fans around the world were waiting for, yes its official the 2011 Indian GP race is on. Charlie Whiting visited the track today for its final inspection for the homologation of the track and gave thumbs up to the track and said that the progress was more than satisfactory and exceeded expectations from when he last visited the site. Surely, this is the news we were all waiting for and now that F1 race director has given a thumbs up to the track, the officials can breathe easy and focus on the next job i.e to stage the weekend smoothly. We all hope for the best.

The FIA yesterday confirmed the calender for the 2012 season, where the 2012 Airtel Indian GP is slated to be on 26th, 27th, 28th October, 2012. For the whole 2012 calender click here, there will be a week gap before and after the race.

Michael Schumacher, seven-time world champion is looking forward to coming to India. In a interview to Times Of India he said, "I can only repeat myself in saying again that F1 is a World Championship. So the more continents and countries involved, the better it is in my view. I have always been curious to get to know new cultures, so I am looking forward to travelling to India as I haven't been there." For the whole interview click here.
