The countdown to Indian GP has already begun, by and by we are getting some news from various teams and marketing agencies about certain plans they have for the upcoming Grand Prix in the coming months.
Recently, Vodafone the official sponsor of McLaren-Mercedes F1 team has announced a competition for the Small & Medium enterprises (SME's). The winner enterprise's logo will be on the two McLaren cars during the Indian GP. The SME will chosen through a contest 'Vodafone Drive into the Big League', as the company announced. They have even announced 'Race to Fame' contest for the consumers through which four winners will get a chance to spend time with the McLaren team for the weekend.
What more? The Mercedes GP team has announced that they will open a driving academy here in India which will offer certified courses to race enthusiasts under the guidance of former F1 drivers. They will have several events lining up once the academy is up and running. They are even planning to have a roadshow in Mumbai by the end of September to allow the race enthusiasts get the feel of the F1 car. Even more, they are trying to bring in Nico Rosberg & Micheal Schumacher for an interactive session here with the customers.
Ferrari too have said that they have plans in mind for the Indian GP but will only reveal all the details later. Recently their sponsors Shell Helix had announced contests for their consumers. While the Lotus-Renault F1 team has also announced that they will bring their show car before the GP and will have static roadshows in 8-10 cities in India.
