Weekend Preview

Despite having Indian interest in five international race series, only one series is in action this weekend however it's the major series - Formula One!

The Force India team will be looking to close the points gap to Toro Rosso and Sauber in the constructors championship (viewable here) at their "base race" in Britain, and recent race pace suggests they can do it! The car is developing rapidly and during the last two races we have appeared faster than their aforementioned rivals. Furthermore, the banning of off-throttle blown diffusers comes into effect at this GP and Force India driver Adrian Sutil says that it could benefit the team (see here).

Elsewhere on the grid Narain Karthikeyan gives up his seat to Red Bull youngster come Hispania driver Daniel Ricciardo - whether or not Narain gets to drive in FP1 at least remains to be seen. Meanwhile at Team Lotus, Karun Chandhok will be driving in FP1 where he's hoping to impress, he does enjoy the Silverstone circuit and actually lives very close to it during the European F1 races.

As always Auto India Sports will have reports from every session this weekend. Usually my colleague Darshan Chokhani writes an overall review at the end of the weekend however i will be taking over that piece for this weekend only as he has exams to study for! However his fans shouldn't worry, i will also have exams later on in the year and he will be taking over my regular articles then; so it evens out of the course of the season =)
